Let me move! The child and physical activity

"Movement helps the development of the mind, and this finds renewed expression in further movement and activity. So, it is a cycle, because both mind and movement belong to the same unity." Maria Montessori

  • Is it advisable to leave our child on the ground, for their own sake?

  • How can we help and stimulate the child’s movement?

  • What factors limit their movement and what should we avoid?

  • What dangers can we find when the child begins to move?

  • What do we do if we have stairs at home?

  • What stages does the child go through before starting to walk?

  • How can we promote movement development respectfully?

  • Are baby walkers beneficial or can they lead to future issues?

  • Do the reflexes one is born with disappear or can they develop into new abilities?

  • How can we work the grasp reflex?

  • Is it good to sit them up if they do not do it themselves?

  • Is it good to make them walk before they are ready?

In this workshop we will look closely at the different stages of the child's motor development and offer resources for parents so that they can provide the appropriate opportunities for their children to develop their potential. In the practical section, we will look at the importance of motor development.
