European Youth Parliament (EYP)

The European Youth Parliament (EYP) is an independent educational programme aimed at students, aged between 16 and 20, from all over the European Union. This programme, entirely in English, aims to promote a European, democratic consciousness and an active view of citizenship, and to encourage students to participate in European politics, always within a framework of intercultural dialogue and understanding and contributing to the individual development of each participant.

In the first school phase, students work on a topic and have to debate and find solutions using cooperative working techniques and PBL (Project-based Learning), which mimics the work carried out by European Parliament committees. Based on this, students are chosen to participate in the regional session, and then enter the national and international sessions.

The school has been represented at various international sessions such places as Bari, Berlin and Istanbul and has participated in the organisation of regional and international sessions such as Girona and Barcelona in 2014. In addition, Montessori Palau Girona has alumni in various positions within the EYP organisation, including the EYP Spain foundation.
