Family workshops provide ideas and resources to strengthen the joint educational efforts of families and the school.

Each stage in a child’s development is an unrepeatable moment for the parents, for whom new questions are always arising. Montessori Palau Girona offers a service aimed at addressing all these questions and guiding parents through all periods, to provide them with ideas and resources and to bring together the educational efforts of both parents and the school in a unified manner. Through this service, sessions are organised and coordinated for small groups of parents in order to discuss and exchange experiences.

The parents’ workshops are designed for the families at the school and are offered at the Infant and Primary Education Stages. In addition, the workshops at the Infant stage are also open to families outside the school who wish to learn more about the different aspects of children’s education.

The following are a list of thematic points that cover all aspects and needs:

• Psychomotor development and physical activity

• Practical life as a source of development of all intelligences

• Nutrition

• Boundaries and tantrums

• Children and the environment

• Responsibility, self-discipline and freedom

• School life

• Affectivity and sexuality

• Language and communication between families and children

• Social development

• Physical and emotional health

• Autonomy and decision-making

These workshops are carried out by the Montessori Palau Girona team of teachers, trained in Montessori Teaching Methods by the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) and by the Psychology and Counselling Department.
