4th Year ESO Student Exchanges

Students at Montessori Palau Girona, in the 4th year of ESO (Compulsory Secondary Education), have the opportunity to participate in a week-long exchange with students from Northern European Schools. The aim is to establish relationships with students and their families in a foreign environment, using English as a working language.

This experience entails getting to know a new culture, with its traditions, gastronomy, customs, and the way of life of citizens in another country in order to enrich the students and to help them in their personal growth. In addition, it allows them to prove their ability to adapt and the extent of their autonomy and independence.

While abroad, both the foreign school students and the students of Montessori Palau Girona, will have the opportunity to discover the city they are staying in through cultural and leisure visits with the whole group during the week or at weekends on outings with their host families.

Montessori Palau Girona has been organising these student exchanges with northern European countries for more than 18 years and have always chosen countries that have English as their first foreign language. Among the cities with which the school has carried out these exchanges include Odder (Denmark), Hildesheim, Ashersleben, Dresden, Weilburg and Stadthagen (Germany), Breda (Holland) and Seinäjoki and Ilmajoki (Finland).
