I want to be a grown up! How can we promote autonomy and independence?

"The child's first instinct is to carry out his actions by himself, without anyone helping him, and his first conscious bid for independence is made when he defends himself against those who try to do the action for him. And in order to act by himself, he tries to make an even greater effort.” Maria Montessori

  • What path must the child follow in order to become independent?

  • What activities can we offer the child in order to achieve greater autonomy?

  • How should we prepare the environment to meet their needs?

The child needs a prepared environment, which the adult must provide, in order to meet the child’s needs dictated by the sensitive periods and the absorbent mind. In an environment of freedom within established limits, the child will be able to choose what interests them or what they need in order to be able to develop their personality, will and intelligence. And if we provide the child with this freedom, they will develop their personal autonomy. This workshop aims to provide various guidelines for families in order to help the child exercise their decision-making from an early age, in a known and familiar environment, which will provide a measure of self-esteem, enabling them to do many things, to decide on their own activities and their learning process.

Childcare service: childcare service is offered to those families who already come to the school. The schedule will be from 5pm to 6:30pm upon registration.
