Regional Selection Conference of the EYP
Sant Cugat
On the last weekend of February six students from ESO4 had the chance to participate in the Regional Selection Conference of the European Youth Parliament (EYP) in Sant Cugat. Engaging in team-building activities, dynamic debates, and public speaking alongside their committees formed by a chairman and other students across Catalunya.
The students demonstrated their collaboration, critical thinking, and confidence in presenting their resolutions during the general assembly.
The session began with team building, where delegates participated in various activities to build trust between them and break the ice.
Once these activities were completed and the committees were formed, committee work started. Here, they worked together to analyze issues affecting Europe, issues based on their committee topic. From finding weak points, they came together to develop solutions and draft them into a resolution. This phase requires deep research and discussion, making it a critical step in the final product.
The last day in Sant Cugat was the General Assembly, where all committees presented and defended their resolutions. Delegates had to defend their proposals and respond to difficult questions from other delegates. Ending with a vote to see if their committees passed or not.
Bernat Van den Broeck, a student of BTL2, took on the challenge of leading the session as a head organiser.
