The main work of the child
This is self-construction based on the child’s interaction with the prepared environment. The term self-construction means that when the child works, they observe, they choose freely, take decisions, experiment, learn from their mistakes and form the conclusions that allow them to evolve to a higher growth stage, improving concentration, self-discipline and responsibility.
The work of the child in Infant Education
Students construct the neural connections in their brains through the use and repetition of the materials presented and through sensory exploration, which will allow them to express their human tendencies for self-construction, both mental and physical.
The work of the child in Primary Education
This consists of self-construction through experimentation and exploration of the environment, through the autonomous carrying out of the activities presented and their extension, both individually and in a group. In this way the child is developing the initiative, autonomy and creativity that will be the basis for leadership.
The child works with three languages (Catalan, Spanish and English) in parallel and learns a fourth complementary language (German).
The work of the child in Secondary Education
This consists of continuing self-construction in order to consolidate personal identity as a social individual. It is achieved through dialogue, critical analysis of knowledge and also experiencing real world situations through work, business and volunteering activities. This is carried out within a cooperative working structure in which both individual development and teamwork is fostered.
At this age, students are given the opportunity to understand the world and its diversity through international programmes and at a local level, outside the school. These projects are structured as real world problems that the student has to solve as a means of acquiring learning (through problem-based learning – PBL – guided discovery techniques and research projects). The Socratic dialogue reinforces discussion and analysis so that the student progresses in their development.
